Said Putin to Trump, let me make some suggestions,
I’ll order my agents to answer your questions.
In return you have people for whom we’ve been waiting
Please send them to us for some interrogating.
Trump said to Putin: I won’t be a scoffer,
In fact I applaud your incredible offer
I find it amazing prodigious. stupendous
And can’t think of anything there to offend us.
As it turned out, of course, he was sadly mistaken
Our security chiefs were all terribly shaken.
"Incredible", yes, but defective in reason,
Ludicrous, crazy, perhaps even treason.
So Trump now admitted what always he wouldn’t:
The Russians had done things that frankly they shouldn’t.
But really that isn’t so terrible, is it?
And extended to Putin an offer to visit.
Which raises the question, we’d like to know whether
The fact is they’re simply two birds of a feather.
Or is it more likely on matters so fateful
That Trump is to Putin incredibly grateful?
